Kawasaki was founded in 1896 in Japan. It started as a shipyard, and soon started to expand into other industrial fields. The first Kawasaki motorcycle was produced in 1954. In 1960, it took over Meguro motorcycles. A Kawasaki ZXR-7 won the Le Mans 24-Hour motorcycle race in 1983. Nowadays, Kawasaki continues to produce powerful and successful bikes.
