We've got a fantastic weekend of sport to look forward to.
Two weekends, in actual fact, as after the Goodwood Festival (2–4 July), the Armco will be going up again at the Circuit des 24 Heures when the biennial Le Mans Classic (9–11 July) will be run.
You didn't think I meant ball–related activities, did you? I'm not a member of the camp which considers motoring matters and football mutually exclusive. The highly paid stars of pitch, night club and fashion shoot are fans of all things four–wheeled, after all. Likewise multi–millionaire tennis players.
Leaving Lamborghini–driving footballers to one side, surely Audi must be looking at this market with glee, for its new A1 is the perfect runaround which can be accessorised to the hilt to provide chic motoring around town for those looking for a slightly lower profile. It's cute, beautifully made and — to start with, at least — will no doubt be subject to a waiting list.
What better car to pick up from the long–term car park, then drive home after an ignominious early exit from the World Cup?

Book Review: Mark Donohue — His Life in Photographs
When we reviewed Michael Argetsinger's previous Donohue book, we commented on the decision to include very few photographs. This new edition redresses the omission, and is very much 'Volume II' of a definitive biography.
