Editorial

A quick look back to 2004’s closing editorial reveals a mention of three of Ferrari’s recently announced road cars, and well goodness me in 2005, if I haven’t been behind the wheel of all of them, and also been in the highly-privileged position of accompanying the amazing Enzo Tour from Fiorano to Mugello this autumn.

The F430, 612 Scaglietti and Superamerica were driven in a high-speed dash from Maranello back to the UK in time for the Goodwood Festival, a tremendous opportunity to experience three of the world’s finest cars on some of the best driving roads in Europe. And speaking of Goodwood, it was another sensational Revival meeting this September, that once again sets the standards for historic racing worldwide.

But don’t forget 2006 will see the biennial Le Mans Classic – a hard call to choose between the two.

On the road car front I also enjoyed a nice road-trip in Aston Martin’s universally–acclaimed DB9, and am looking forward to more Aston Action early in the New Year.

We have the final part of a our ‘Personal Christmas’ guide today, and we’re cheating a little to let Classic Inside subscribers have a peak at tomorrow’s final feature – a nice one I hope you’ll agree.

And what would your Editor’s perfect Christmas present be? Well apart from the ‘Peace on Earth’ and ‘Goodwill to all Men’ stuff of course, a year’s racing in the Trofeo Audemars Piguet Maserati Europe 2006 would be great. That and a suitable road car to turn up to the events in naturally. F430, 612 Scaglietti or DB9?

Decisions, decisions, and perhaps ones best left to 2006.

Our very best wishes for the festive season and New Year to all of you, the next Classic Inside will be on Friday 6th January.

Merry Christmas!
