1973 Porsche RS Touring Chassis 9113601280 Engine 6631257 The Carrera RS is one of the greatest ‘homologation specials’ ever built and remains for many the ultimate 911. Originally conceived as a small production Group 3 car it went on to humble prototypes and dominate Motorsport for many years beyond its introduction in 1972. Over thirty years later they are still used by enthusiasts to drive to a race weekend, compete, and drive home again in! Chassis 1280 is a very original example and is still fitted with its original engine. The production numbers have been checked with the factory and confirmed by Jurgen Barth, the racer and archivist for the historic department. 1280 was supplied with a fantastic list of extras on order which comprises: Limited slip differential, head rests, sliding roof, heated rear window, retractable seat belts, drivers door mirror, fog lights, engine light and rubber strips on the front and rear bumper. Having resided for most of its life in Italy, this original engined 2.7 RS Touring was owned early in its life by Seignior Angiolini of the famous Italian Racing Team, Jolly Club. We sold 1280 to its present owner who has spent in excess of 25,000 pounds on the running gear and cosmetic improvements and is consequently in superb condition throughout. With only a handful of owners, this very original 2.7 RS Touring rates as one of the best driving RS’s that we have had the opportunity to enjoy.
