An original, home Market Drop Head Coupe that was supplied through Henlys of Manchester in October of 1953. The early history is not known, but we do know that a British engineer by the name of Tony Cotterill owned the XK and emigrated to the USA, taking the car with him. It returned home in around 1996 with a new owner, who undertook a rolling restoration of the car.

Much of the initial work, including the engine rebuild, was by Michal Cannon, of Bakewell, Derbyshire, with finishing work being completed by P&K Thornton. A lot of parts (and from looking at the correspondence, free advice) were supplied by Guy Broad. Finished in white over red, it has been set up for fast, long distance touring. Fitted with a 5 speed gearbox, large carburettors, louvered bonnet, disk brakes, Le Mans petrol filler, expansion tank etc. Trim was supplied and fitted by Suffolk & Turley, and the wood was refurbished at the same time.

After completion in 2000 and some shakedown miles, it competed on the Tour Auto in France. It is a much loved, well used touring Jaguar that has just had an extensive service and fresh MOT to get it ready for this summer. Complete with a Heritage Certificate, FIVA document and its original UK registration number.
