This 1999 Honda NSX Type S is one of 209 pre-facelift cars produced . It was sold new in Japan and stayed there until it made its way to Sweden in the summer of 2017. Since new, it has covered just 46,468 kilometres.
On February 6th, 1997, Honda unveiled the new Type S for the Japanese Domestic Market. It offered a new 3,2-litre V6 developing 280 horsepower, a new close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission, and a more driver-oriented setup.
Moreover, the Type S offers a 45-kilogram reduction of weight, revised suspension for better road feel, and natural steer characteristics. Additionally, this iteration of the NSX was adorned with Type S-specific BBS forged aluminium wheels, a Momo steering wheel, and carbon-Kevlar Recaro seats.
Made famous by car journalists as a Ferrari killer, The NSX was also the car Gordon Murray chose to drive while developing the Mclaren F1.
The example we have on offer, chassis number NA21000276, is draped in a Beautiful Monte Carlo Blue Pearl (B-66P), which was only offered between 1997 and 1999. Matched perfectly with an interior in black and blue and an updated Honda Stereo System.
The original exhaust has been replaced with an aftermarket titanium system, but the former comes with the purchase. When new, this NSX was ordered with the driver’s airbag, a no-cost option, but now has a Momo steering wheel.
MOTIKON has thoroughly inspected and serviced this specimen. Since arriving in Sweden, it has received an oil change. It has also been wrapped in transparent plastic.
